Wikipediaभारतीय महिला बैंक भारत का पहला महिला बैंक है। इसकी शुरुआत 19 नवम्बर 2013 को मुंबई में हुई। इस बैंक का मुख्यालय दिल्ली में होगा।
2013 के बजट में वित्तमंत्री ने महिला बैंक का प्रस्ताव रखा था और उसके लिए 1,000 करोड़ रुपए पूंजी आवंटित की थी।
19 नवम्बर 2013 को मुंबई में प्रधानमंत्री मनमोहन सिंह और यूपीए चेयरपर्सन सोनिया गांधी ने वित्तमंत्री पी चिदंबरम की उपस्थिति में इस बैंक का उद्घाटन किया। शुरुआत में बैंक की 7 शाखाएं हैं - मुंबई, बेंगलुरु, कोलकाता, चेन्नै, अहमदाबाद, लखनऊ तथा गुवाहाटी। 31 मार्च 2014 तक 25 शाखाएं खोलने का प्रस्ताव है।
