Wikipediaललित निबंध निबंध का एक प्रकार है। ललित निबन्ध विधा की उपस्थिति का आभास आधुनिक काल और गद्य विधा के आरम्भ के साथ ही मिलने लगता है। भारतेन्दु हरिश्चन्द्र, प्रतापनारायण मिश्र, सरदार पूर्ण सिंह, चंद्रधर शर्मा गुलेरी, बालमुकुन्द गुप्त, पदुमलाल पुन्नालाल बक्शी आदि के निबन्धों में इस विधा के पूर्वाभास दिखाई पड़ने लगते हैं, लेकिन एक व्यवस्थित और महत्वपूर्ण विधा के रूप में इसकी पहचान पहले-पहल आचार्य हजारी प्रसाद द्विवेदी के निबन्धों में दिखाई पड़ती है। अशोक के फूल, कुटज और कल्पलता संकलनों के निबंध पहले-पहल इस विधा के प्रतिदर्श बने। अतः उनके ये निबन्ध ही इस विधा के वास्तविक प्रस्थान बिन्दु हैं। आगे चलकर अज्ञेय, कुबेर नाथ राय, विद्या निवास मिश्र, विवेकी राय , कृष्ण बिहारी मिश्र, आदि निबन्धकारों ने इसे और समृद्ध किया।
