王俠1930年出生於陝西西安，原為中華民國空軍軍官學校第三十五期學生，就學期間因健康因素而中途休學，於是加入力行劇團，參與話劇演出。其後報考丁伯駪的亞洲公司，演出多部台語電影，1959年得到潘壘提拔，在國語電影《金色年代》中演出重要角色，從此亦在國語電影中演出。於1965年赴港與邵氏公司簽約，並演出多部電影，主演有《毒玫瑰》、《亞洲秘密警察》、《中國超人》等片。1977年離開邵氏公司，回台灣繼續其演藝生涯。
2016年7月21日晚上8點多，因胰臟癌病逝於台北。
